Enthousiast person: Oh great, another
trackmo after the one from Equinox
which brings something new to the
demo ST scene.
Choose your side, I've choosen the
enthousiast one !
I LIKE THIS DEMO, because there are
many different effects, you don't have
time to be bored. Because the design
of the screen has been worked.
Because you can press space bar at any
time to end the part of the demo you
are watching. Because most effects are
unknown on ST. Because musics are
original. Because their plasma might be
one of the best ever done on ST.Because
logos are neat. Because 3D routines are
quite fast and original.
If I wanted to test it with a critical
eye I would say I don't like scrollers
because they say nothing, nothing about
the band , no joke , no story... No
message to friends or anything alike,
just depressing scrollers saying things
like: Sorry about the demo,we could do
better now but blabla...
But anyway this demo is a GREAT demo,
and it shows us that whether Sweden is
not as productive as it used to be, the
quality is still there !
CODE: 97% Very good , and all had been
performed by one coder: MIG.Great job !
GFX+DESIGN: 95% Many neat logos, no
pictures,but a perfect design and unity
between screens.
MUSICS: 91% Two original sound chip-
musics,and one sound track.
IDEAS: 97% Most are taken from Amiga
demos, but who really cares ?
OVERALL: 97% A great demo, with a
quick rythme, even better than the one
on Equinox latest demo, except during
loading sequences.

THE SNORK DEMO by FUTUR MINDS + Friends

Finally here it is! The long awaited
SNORK demo is here. 1st of all it is in
2 disks, with many screens, from people
whose were at the snork parties.
But the problem's the same that with
the PHALEON demo, there's nothing new !
There is no crap screens , but they are
all nearly average except the following
ones:
The screen by ZARATHUSTRA is in fact
an intro which should have been used by
THE REPLICANTS but...It was too big for
being an intro. At the beginning of the
part you have a big boucing scroll with
in second plane a fullscreen distortion
and also a cool sampled music . After a
while you'll be able to enter in a game
which is in fact an othello conversion.
This one is a great part !
The part by MISFITS SOFTWARE is also
a game, but this one is an original one
one and it's pretty good .
Also a good point for the MYSTIC and
a very nice stretching effect !
The rest in average in general. Some
screens are even really boring, like by
example the 'RAVE FM' part which should
have been called act 'EYE'S DESTROYER'.
There is also a screen by ULM but it
is the same as , their hidden screen in
the OOH CRICKEY so it's of no use.
The 3D Menu is quite good with lotsa
3D animated objects but It would be
better to include , like in the KRUZ
'BEYOND' also an alternative menu to
select all the screens in general.

MUSIC : 60% The musics are original,
but they are boring esp.

MATHEMATICA Demo by AURA

After the great HIGH FIDELITY DREAMS
we could expect another cute thing from
AURA so here it is !
This time it's a not really a dentro
even if it's a file it's in fact a real
demo which is one more time very good !
At the beginning, you are introduced
with this demo, by an interlace effect,
and after, a quite ugly B.Vallejo piccy
appear on your screen. It would be cool
not to put this picture here, coz it is
really not nice at all.
All the rest is great, with in order
'Keftales' and 'Realtime keftales' AURA
call this effect Keftale because on the
AMIGA, the group KEFRENS, was the first
to release (In 1990) a dentro with this
effect. A Keftale is a kind of plasma .
After you have 2d Realtime splines, the
very good IFS, which is, the one of the
best fractals generators of ST, and the
guest screen by Bloody Drunken Canibal
who is also member of AURA arrive. It's
simply, the biggest 3D ever made on ST,
at the beginning , you have an enormous
cube and several objects follow. After,
this is the end.
The end screen, is also the gretings
part. It's the conversion, of a part of
the 'SUBSTANCE demo' by QUARTEX on the
good old AMIGA. In this screen you have
5 (or 6?) big soap bubbles, at the same
time on screen with a text displayer.
In conclusion, I can say that it is,
another good AMIGA inspirated demo, and
even if it is shorter than the SNORK by
example, it's really better. By the way
it was certainly the last AURA ST demo.
We'll meet them again on... FALCON !

is an ugly AMIGA->ST pic
conversion.

It is again a dentro with all that we
have enjoyed in the one from HMD, Aura,
AM,Imagina... I mean Shade Bobs,various
Plasmas,original sound chip music, nice
design. We can also notice in this one
great objects made with dots. May be
this kind of demo is going to be too
common now, but please don't sulk. It
is still very cool to see such demo
without ugly scrollers, equalizers and
so on. If I receive in the next days
10 new dentros may be I will start
being bored but now I actually enjoy
this kind of demo. And I've loaded this
one several time, whereas I must admit
I don't fell like loading during 5
minutes any megademos, loosing my time
looking for the screen I want to watch.
Is Finland going to be the number one
demo country on Atari ? That's the
question we can ask ourselves with this
new dentro from Finland.
CODE : 94% Smooth animations, no bugs
what else can we ask for ?
GFX : 69% Not much GFX, but the dentro
worx on 520 so we can't expect 2 much.
MSX : 89% Nice original chip-tune.
IDEA : 80% Cube,Spheres and other
dots-objects are really cool.
IMPRES : 94% We don't have time to be
bored.

THE ULTIMATE MUSIC COLLECTOR by the PHF

They are English, they claim to be
active on C64, Amiga and ST.
Thanks to arrow keys we are allowed
to select among 200 chip musics in a
roller.
That's not an original idea, the GFX
and the code are not brilliant. What
I can say about it ? That's not the
best demo of that sort, but they
say sequels will be released regularly
with new musics. So I just recommend
this demo to people who likes
collecting sound chip musics.
I am not one of those people...

THINGS THAT MADE US GO HUM/The WATCHMEN

Here is this time, a new demo by the
Watchmen. It's a multipart one.
Very fast, after a short loading you
can watch a nice plasma effect which is
in fact a small text displayer.Here you
read that the demo was finished since a
long time, but it took some time to fix
some bugs......
After this, you have another screen,
where you can select your screens . You
can select 5 different screens.
The first one, is a brainblaster,and
there is to much things on screen... It
is impossible to read the scrollers.
The second screen is according to me
the best one. It's the conversion of an
Amiga demo called 'HIT FIDO DEMO'. This
part is very well done. On your screen,
you have a 3d line drawed man, running,
with 11 parallax 'Starray' scrollers.It
is also possible to see, a 3d line bird
at the same time. Great work !
The other screens are not wonderfull
you have in order a nice megascroller,a
3d line screen and a starfield part for
the greetings... There's no reset part,
but in conclusion, it's an average demo
but it's always the same !

ALFONS'GREATEST SAMPLES PART I and II

No, it is not a new wonderfull DELTA
FORCE production but an crap stuff this
time.
In fact, the 2 disks are filled with
15 khz samples, coming from movies.It's
totally without any interest even if it
is working on high res but where is the
fun.
I Hope it's not the last DELTA FORCE
ST production, becoz if it was it would
be a poor end. Hope 2 get another great
demo from them, before, the end of this
year'92.

THE NO COOPER DEMO By -1984-

This is the first demo from 1984 and
I must admit you that, I have been very
surprised by it !
Why ? Simply, because for a 1st try,
their level is already excellent, also,
because this demo is original !
The first good thing is that there's
no fucking lame main menu . You put the
disk in drive and that is all, you have
nothing to do of more except looking at
the screen.
This demo, is a kind of Amiga copper
emulation. In fact, most of the effects
which have been done on 'Amiga' by this
copper are in this demo !
The effects are quite numerous, from
the horizontal rasters,the RGB plasma,a
kind of vertical rasters deformation,an
interesting oil effect plasma, which is
the conversion of an old rebels effect,
and also many other things.There's also
the conversion of the Plasmatronic demo
by celtic, it's really well done.
But in this demo you have other very
interesting things like some fullscreen
shadebobs. There's also a sound demo,it
is a selector with 8 original musics. I
forget another good thing.All the tunes
are also original or ranslated to chip,
by the musician of the group.
1984 have also coded again the first
screen of TCB for the Sowatt demo and I
don't see the use ! But they tell it is
in fact a way to greet TCB.
The reset screen, is also very good,
but it doesn't load often on my old ST.
I've seen it only one time. It is a 3D
dots sphere with written 1984 on it !
To end this report I'll say that it
is really a -great- production, and we
hope to see more from them soon.

GFX : 92% Great work everywhere.
MUSIC : 73% Not fantastic Except for
the soundtracks (90%).
IDEA : 91% Original idea to emulate
the copper on ST.
IMPRES : 90% That's good.

TRAGEDY FOR YOU / NEW TREND

They are german and unknow as it is
their 1st production under this new
label. Their motto: "Originality is our
business" sums up very well the demo.
It isn't perfect from the technical
side,& there are not screens enough but
I like this demo because they tried and
succeeced in making an original and
funny demo.
At the beginning of the demo you have
an animation with guys who go to their
house because they have received the
NT demo & they are finally blown up by
police, there are several samples, it
is cool.
An other cool idea ( inspired from
Xcopy demo on Amiga ? ) is that the
loading sequence is an "emulation" of
Fastcopy 3 in action. There's also a
strange greetings screen; all the
text is said by a digital voice.
As a conclusion this demo seems to
suffer a little bit from scamping, but
it is nevertheless a demo to get.
New trend is one the bands to check in
the future, significant productions
might come from them.

in the demo,though the ResetScreen from
Mr Bond, with sun and shadow on a board
is advanced.
GFX : 91% Animations and that's not
easy to do ; and great grafitti style
by Ice Cube.

Who would be crazy enough to bet about
an Omega demo release this year ?
Not,me...
But here it is, and that's good.
It is the most advanced techno demo on
ST.
The music is said to come from F242,
and that's the worst thing of the demo
from my point of view, because with all
the new Belgium and American techno,and
industrial bands,Front 242 sounds a bit
old-fashionned,but I'm sure F242's fans
will hate me for saying such a thing.
The demo consists of lot of animations
in one plane of people dancing, of
several pictures and logos and it is
mixed with 3d objects (triangles,drums)
and cycling colors. Sometimes 3d and
pictures are shown at the same, very
good,really.
STE + 1 meg only
CODE : 85% 3d animations with at the
same time the sound track, fast picture
depacker.
GFX : 98% For the great digit
animations, and a beautiful logo at the
beginning of the demo.
MSX : 75% We expected more samples
with a 1 meg demo.
IDEA: 80% Well the idea is not really
new, but it has never been done so well
on ST. I like the name of the demo
because 'grotesque' is a french word.
OVERALL:99% If you like techno demos.

Parties Mad vision had with Impact are
mentionned.
There is also in the demo an advertis-
sement for a computer shop we ( Def KLF
& Rusty ) are not allowed to enter now
due to some fights with the boss of
the shop...
That's the reasons why we can't do a
very objective test of this demo.
But anyway here are some facts:
The demo is on 2 disks because of the
several big sound track musics used. A
STE is welcome to enjoy the music and
to access all the screens.
The good things of the demo are...
Various plasmas,Great soundtracks ( Das
Boot ), the greetings screen ( with lot
of logos ).
Check it by yourself !

Since the Phaleon we had no new classic
megademo ( with a main menu ), Oxygene
brings us their second megademo which
is also their last production on ST,but
they might come to the Falcon.
Sure, there's less rythme than in the
latest ST productions, as we have to
select our screens, but nevertheless
there are some good surprises in this
demo. An example ? What about a cube
(full) in fullscreen ? Some psychedelic
circles in fullscreen, some terrific
3d line object transformations.
The MJJ prod guest screen is also very
well done with some fake horizontal
scrollers.
CODE : 90% Good technical coding (full-
screeens, hard scrolls ) and also 3d.
GFX : 88% Clean and cold design. A
bit too static,too dead...
MSX : 76% Good amiga soundtracks, but
their playing routine is not efficient
enough. Some classic soundchip zax too.
IDEA: 71% Not so much ideas, just some
improvement of already seen screens,but
we can notice the Bezier curves.
OVERALL: 81% A very good megademo, but
compared to their first megademo we
expected even a better one.

You're right, Finland !
It is the first production I have from
them, I think it is their 1st one.
It is a dentro, with various effects:
Several plasmas and some impressive
"sinus"-distortions of text which must
be done using the blitter. A big sinus
scroll is also cool. But the whole
thing hasn't the invisible touch which
make of it a "top-demo".
You know what depressed me watching
this demo ? It's that nobody really
used the blitter ,earlier, except for
useless vertical scrollers.
CODE : 86% Very good use of the blitter
GFX : 70% They look for a new graphist
Their logos are nice, but the color
harmony of the screens must be worked.
MSX : 75% An original sound chip
music.
IDEA: 75% They use the blitter and STE
colors, that is original compared to
the classic use of the STE.
OVERALL:76% You need it, because there
are not so much STE demos.

REVOLUTION Megademo by STAX !

STAX are back ! But this time it is
not with a new compact disk, but with a
demo.
All the screens are done by members
of STAX, it means no guest screens. 1st
of all the main menu's good with a kind
of WING COMMANDER board conversion.With
it, U can select screens. The bad thing
is that it's only working with joystick
what about also using the keyboard ?
Don't worry if you have no joystick
press help during the main menu and you
will be able to select all the screens,
by pushing F1 to F10.
About the screens , we can say that
fullscreens are numerous and well coded
(They also work on my old ST !). I have
also noticed , the conversion of an old
C64 game called 'The LasT V8' and a C64
music demo with numerous C64 musiX (But
the problem is that most of them are
old conversions...).
In conclusion, and average demo, we
can classify with demos like the SNORK.
We can hope, better things from STAX in
their next productions, as they seem to
have good coders.... But originality is
missing !

'UMD VOLUME II' By the PHF

Here's the second volume of the UMD
series, by PHF. This one is good, and U
haven't only Mad Max and Dave Whittaker
tunes !
The main menu is made with Gfx from
the game TURRICAN. You control the guy,
and you can select different parts.
Each part is in fact, from a diffe-
-rent composer.By example it's possible
to choose to listen all R.HUBBARD tunes
converted to ST by different guys, like
Mad Max or Tao. It's a good idea !
Most of the musics are new,and they
have never been included in a musicdisk
before. Here, we can select by example,
musics from UTOPIA or LOTUS.
Another good thing is that, you can
ask them to send you, a music from this
demo they'll answer you for sure.
There's only one problem: Some zaks
from Beast'n'Frazer from The Syndicate,
have been included in this demo and the
problem is that it should not have been
released ! That's really strange ! Read
Frazer's article for more infos about
it.
CODE : 85% Good replayers.
GFX : 25% No original work.
MUSIC : 95% That's a musicdisk !
IDEA : 88% Cool classification.
IMPRES : 88% Good.

DELIROUS 4 from MCS. I had twice the
disk one so I haven't seen all the
screens. They slag Overlanders off. And
they say French alliance is not dead.
It seems there are many old screens but
a few one are good from what I've seen.
PERPETUAL DAWN. It has been released
during a Ripped off party. "The names
have been changed to protect the
innocents."
A music of The Orb is played with digit
pictures from scene people...
MEGA FUN 3 Pictures taken at the
megafun party 3, a sound track music is
played. Funny to see some heads...
CARTOON DENTRO from Animal mine.
A sound track music is played, and a
story about a penguin is told in a
scroll-text and different pictures
illustrate the story. Perfect when you
are doing 'baby sitting'.

name of this demo & I can't test it as
I haven't copied it and I watched it
once at a friend place. But this demo
must be one the best (or the best) from
the 10 last I get. Some never seen
effects on ST, some brain blasting 3d
scrollers... A very good demo with
lots of screen.

A very good main menu and some old
screens. It would be good 1 year ago.
But it's nice that the OVR finally
release it for all people who coded a

I've talked about the Falcon in the
previous two editorials and I'm going
to do the same thing in this one...
Even if French scene doesn't seem to
be enjoyed by the old German school,
( cf: Slime/DF in Maggie & Karsmaker in
St news. ) obviously France is the only
country where Atari is still running
properly. So when I read in the French
computer press, articles pro-Amiga and
saying Falcon is less good than the
Amiga 1200 and that Atari will close
down, whereas they used to support
Atari computers, I must admit that I
fear for Atari's future. But don't get
fooled by the Amiga hype !
Amazine motto is "the voice of the
underground" or the voice of the scene,
so it is probably the best place to
send a message to the Atari scene
freaks...
...The best way to shut up journalists
pro Amiga, Amiga and Pc owners and to
make people want to buy it, is to
be strong.
What does it mean ?
First we must release cool productions,
on Falcon to show what the machine is
really able to do.
The best advertissement for Amiga 500
was Shadow of the Beast and RSI mega-
demo and not TV advertissments as best
advertissment for Sega was Sonic.
We must have our RSI megademo, and
Shadow of the beast on Falcon.
Our scene must be united, and even if
it will be hard we should for
a while forget our internal conflicts
to spend our time to fight Amiga, PC,
and consol freaks to write to
computer magazine to explain why
Falcon is better than Amigas. To
say to lamers,kids or friends that if
they buy a Falcon we will supply them
in free cracked games.
and finally to use many AT'n'T calling
cards because they will do the Amiga
DSP so we must fight them... ( don't
take this advice too serious ).
But forget pessimism, look at all that
great demos that have been released
those last weeks, and all those new
bands which say they want to be
active on Falcon, that's very
stimulating.

Greetings and welcome to issue 3 of our
diskmag. Lets talk about the new things
for 93. 93 will be an important date, 4
the computer technologies, as you know,
old 16 bits ST or AMIGA are outworn now
it is time for a new generation of cpu,
32 bits, like the AMIGA 1200 and FALCON
030 ! Since 86, A500 and ST were ruling
the family computer scene now it's over
it's time for a big change ! We mustn't
forget the PC computers, which are also
more and more present nowadays...
But, this new age, starts quite bad for
ATARI. First since the beginning of 92,
they promise 2 everybody the FALCON 030
will be released in 2 months but we are
still waiting for it... And the machine
does not seem as great as what we could
have expected (One of our coders owns a
FALCON 030...). In October, the adverts
about the FALCON 030 were numerous , by
example, we have seen a demo of it on 4
french channels (TF1,FRANCE2,FRANCE3'nd
all right CANAL+), and at the end, they
said the FALCON 030, would be available
for november. But it's not yet buyable!
But what the hell are ATARI doing ! Are
they sleeping or what ?
One more time , COMMODORE seems to have
been better ! Nobody was waiting for it
but it arrived... I am talking of their
new computer the AMIGA 1200 with a very
interesting price (3400 Frs) !
For now if ATARI releases the FALCON030
with only 1 Meg without hard disk it'll
be the end for them.But if they sell it
with a base version of 4 Megs, and with
the new gfx modes (According to what we
know, ATARI haven't released the FALCON
for XMAS becoz its video modes were not
as good as A1200's one, it is said they
will sell it for APRIL, with better gfx
modes...), it can be good , if it's
cheap compared to Commodore.
I've also heard that, ATARI was working
on a 64 Bits Game system ! It should be
released for XMAS 93, but if it is like
the never released PANTHER we can wait
for a decade...
Now I will send some messages to all my
friends on the scene (No special order,
all right...).

A- Why we leave Atari scene.
ST is old,lame and almost die.
ST SCENE is too small, we know every-
body, it is cool, but there's nothing
new,always the same thing everyday...
There's a lack of competition and
of challenge on ST.
FALCON will be expensive,we don't know
when it will be out,we don't know if it
will be good, we don't know if Atari
won't close down in the next months,
Atari doesn't say anything.
B- Why we go to Amiga.
Because Mac scene doesn't exist.
PC are too expensive for us.
Amiga is a cool machine, have a big
scene, and Commodore is rich, it won't
close down soon ( contrary to Atari ).
It is a new challenge to go somewhere
where we are unknow and where we know
nobody.
C- Why we change our name to REAL LIFE
We are a bit fed up with our name and
our old pseudos.
In the case we crack on Amiga....
Anyway we are unknow on Amiga.
D- What will happen to AMAZINE ?
We give the right to HEMOROIDS to
release next AMAZINE issues , send
them articles.
E- Will REAL LIFE open a section on
Atari ?
004 & C-rem planned intros on ST. And
004 & Maxx-out might release things on
Falcon. And finaly SPY3/REAL LIFE might

Compatiblity of the A1200 with A500 is
better than the A600 ! And many games
like Epic or demos using 3D are much

Armada does not exist anymore, because
Wiz Tom and Qwerty of Universal Coders
and Teque joined Aggression, and the
Universal Coders were dead after that.

some misinformation I feel it is my
duty to correct them:
1) I am NOT a member of I.C.S. anymore!
During the short period (about 3 weeks)
that I was a member of I.C.S. I didn't
make anything at all of any importance.
The reason that I left the crew is very
simple: I was totally preoccupied with
our "Shitro" and other stuff concerning
demo-coding so there were NO time to do
anything else. A long time ago I used
to crack stuff and then it was quite
funny. Today though I find not much joy
in it and making demos are much more

didn't show up for his military service

A new diskmag called PURE BOLLOCKS is
released. The 1st issue is said to be
the 21th. Genie and EGB's smelly sox

Thanks to them,many little or new bands
can have their productions spread.
Intros or dentros which were unknow are
now watched by most people of the
scene Animal Mine menus motivate many
bands to code screens and also have
opportunities to be contacted by many
swappers and that is a very good thing
for the scene. Keep up the good work,
